As the poster children for toxic virtue-signaling, Ben and Jerry continue their quest to alienate consumers from their brand. Instead of making a superior product and satisfying customers, the ice cream peddlers seem intent on making a statement and selling bad ideas. Their recent flavor, "Change is Brewing" serves as their latest jaunt to the wrong side of an issue. While the ingredients sound delicious, the flavor of their anti-cop message turns the stomach.
With a broad scoop, these two leftists disparage an entire industry:
"We must either rise up and demand change, or continue watching as our Black and Brown neighbors choke on expired tear gas, suffer from over-surveillance, and bear the brunt of police brutality in this nation." – from BenJerry.com
To further sour the cream, Ben and Jerry announced that proceeds from sale of the new flavor will help a $10 billion proposal from cop-bashing (but personal security loving) Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo.
While no one can paint all ice cream makers as communists, intent on destroying America, Ben and Jerry freely malign police officers across the country. The actions of Ben and Jerry insinuate their knowledge of the hearts, minds and training of all law enforcement across the land. Ensconced behind the protection of others, Ben and Jerry seem free to dispense teachers lounge politics with every scoop.
Interestingly, the massive crowds illegally rushing into our southwestern states – crowds ignored by Democrats disguised as journalists – are not deterred by the "systemic racism" message of Ben and Jerry. Throngs of "black and brown neighbors" (unable to afford Ben and Jerry's ice cream) reject the message of the ice cream makers by their desperate surge into this country. The aerial shots made it hard to tell, but apparently no Ben and Jerry ice cream stands exist at the southern border warning these people not to come to such a racist country.
English poet Thomas Tusser once stated, "A fool and his money are soon parted." Giving any money to Rep. Cori Bush aptly affirms Tusser's quote. Bush trumpets her reckless and unfounded claims of white supremacy while publicly declaring her own supremacy.
"I'm going to make sure I have security because I know. I have had attempts on my life, and I have too much work to do there, too many people that need help right now for me to allow that. So, if I end up spending $200,000, if I spend 10 more dollars on it – you know what? I get to be here to do the work. So suck it up, and defunding the police has to happen, we need to defund the police and put that money into social safety nets." – CNN (Aug. 5, 2021)
Validating such a person only further divides the country. Yet, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield seem comfortable with Cori Bush's promotion of defunding the police. They also seem to share similar feelings toward Israel.
Ben and Jerry's website proudly proclaims, "We reject and repudiate all forms of hate and racism." The only thing more hateful than pejoratively calling someone a racist is to label their entire profession as racists. A cop in Seattle is not responsible for the behavior of a police officer in D.C. Yet, Ben and Jerry, along with Bush, the Democratic Party, the White House and the leftist media would have us believe otherwise.
Martin Luther King Jr. aspired for "… a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." Instead, Ben and Jerry join hands with Rep. Bush (and others) to judge others by their uniform, occupation and the color of skin.
During World War II, ice cream served as the "edible morale symbol." The International Dairy Foods Association stated, "Each branch of the military tried to outdo the others in serving ice cream to its troops." The organization further shares that America celebrated the end of the war with ice cream.
Once upon in America, ice cream was only available to the elite. Thanks to progress, it soon reached the masses and became an uplifting and unifying treat for all. Now, elites have politicized yet one more thing that connected us.
Sadly, ice cream now resides with sports, entertainment, news, school and music on the list of pleasures and pursuits ruined by leftists.
