House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is becoming more and more isolated in her resistance to making a deal that would provide American homes, families and businesses help with the damage from COVID-19, went off the rails in an interview with the left-leaning CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
She repeatedly accused the interviewer of being an advocate for Republicans and told him he had no idea about the dispute over the help.
At issue is more money for unemployment assistance, probable $1,200 direct payments to taxpayers, and more forgiveable loans to small businesses.
The White House has proposed spending some $1.8 trillion, which is on top of the trillions spent earlier in the summer.
Pelosi earlier demanded about $3.7 trillion, and since then has come down to about $2.2 trillion, but she has refused to negotiate over her requirements.
She was being interviewed by Blitzer when she went on the attack, accusing Blitzer of being a "Republican apologist."
The Daily Mail called her performance a "fiery meltdown."
Blitzer, a veteran interviewer, remained calm through, asking following questions when he could wedge them in.

Pelosi, the Mail reported, was "fuming that he didn't know what he was talking about."
Her accusations flew especially after Blitzer pointed out that Democrats including former presidential candidate Andrew Yang and California Rep. Ro Khanna have been asking her to simply make a deal with the president.
"I don't know why you're always an apologist — and many of your colleagues, apologists for the Republican position,' Pelosi accused.
She complained that the Republican deal doesn't have the child tax credits and earned income credits that she insists are necessary.
Pelosi also accused the president of wanting "to put a check with his name on it in the mail."
When Blitzer noted "millions of Americans who have lost their jobs. They can't pay the rent. Kids need the food…"
Pelosi interrupted, with, "That's what we're trying to get done."
When Blitzer asked,"Why not work out a deal with [President Trump] and don't let the perfect as they say here in Washington, be the enemy of the good?" she retorted, "Well I will not let the wrong be the enemy of the right."
She then renewed her attack on Blitzer, with "You really don't know what you're talking about."
The Mail said, "The on-air spat continued until the dying seconds as both Pelosi and Blitzer attempted to have the last word and the speaker accusing the TV host of 'defending the administration all this time.'"
"Madam speaker, these are incredibly difficult times right now and we'll leave on that note," Blitzer said.
But Pelosi wouldn't stop.
"No, we'll leave it on the note that you're not right on this, Wolf, and I hate to say that to you, but I feel confident about it and I feel confident about my colleagues and I feel confident in my [committee] chairs."
She ended the interview repeating "We represent them," four or five times, speaking over Blitzer.
Khanna previously stated: "People in need can't wait until February. 1.8 trillion is significant & more than twice Obama stimulus. It will allow Biden to start with infrastructure. Obama won in 08 by doing the right thing on TARP instead of what was expedient. Make a deal & put the ball in McConnell court."
House minority leader Kevin McCarthy noted, "Nancy Pelosi is asked a simple question, and she immediately resorts to name-calling."
Pelosi had told her fellow Democrats that the White House proposal gave the president "too much power in deciding how the funds would be spent," the report said.
The biggest issue is that Pelosi wants to bail out states and cities – largely run by Democrats – whose budgets have imploded not only because of the coronavirus, but by spending practices over recent years. Republicans say taxpayers across the nation should not be obligated to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to bail out Democrat mismanagement.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House Chief of State Mark Meadows have promised to continue trying to persuade Pelosi to come to agreement.
The Mail also added: "Tuesday's breakdown came a month after the leading Democrat was caught in a closed hair salon flouting coronavirus restrictions by not wearing a face mask. After the video of her ill-advised salon trip went viral, Pelosi claimed she had fallen for 'a set up.'"
She demanded an apology from the salon.
