(WLWT) – A newborn baby was safely surrendered in a Safe Haven Baby Box in Indiana last week. The Monroe Fire Protection District posted to its Facebook page sharing the news.
The fire department said when the baby was surrendered, firefighters were notified by alarms that went off, which is prompted whenever a baby is surrendered inside the box.

Firefighters provided EMS care and comforted the baby until paramedics arrived on scene. The baby was then taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
