Homeless man found sleeping in K-8 school

(BOSTON HERALD) – Parents of students at the Richard J. Murphy School were notified Tuesday after a homeless man was found in one of the classrooms an hour before school started.

“I am writing to inform you that early this morning, about one hour before the start of school, a member of school staff discovered an individual unknown to BPS experiencing homelessness who was sleeping inside a classroom,” Principal Courtney Sheppeck wrote in a letter to parents.

The man reportedly quickly left the building before school started. No students came into contact with the person, and there was no apparent danger, Sheppeck continued.
