Biden reaffirms desire to ditch cash bail: Tone-deaf

Let's be clear. Making it easier for criminals to get back on the streets by eliminating cash bail is out of touch with what average Americans want.

Average Americans are tired of lawlessness and mayhem on their streets and in their communities.

The judges, prosecutors and politicians who haphazardly put criminals back on the streets should be removed from office. And that includes the president of the United States.

Why am I saying all of this today? Because the White House is now reaffirming Joe Biden's ridiculous call to end cash bail. This is despite reports that Waukesha, Wisconsin, suspect Darrell Brooks was free on $1,000 bail when he allegedly plowed through the crowd at a Christmas parade, killing six and injuring dozens.

Talk about bad timing.

Brooks is now being held on a more appropriate $5 million bail following the deadly rampage. He is accused of driving an SUV through the parade and murdering members of the local community.

Local law enforcement authorities in Waukesha are looking at how Brooks might have been out on the ridiculously low amount of $1,000 bail at the time of the incident.

All of this is coming to light, along with the fact that Brooks has a history of flight. Serious charges on his long rap sheet include those from an incident earlier this month when he allegedly tried to run over his ex-girlfriend – the mother of his child – at a gas station.

He was charged and posted that easy-to-swing $1,000 bail soon after. Now the Milwaukee District Attorney's Office is investigating and has labeled the amount "inappropriate."

I smell a "woke" government official somewhere in the mix.

And now comes that Biden official with more out-of-touch woke malarkey.

The president issued a statement on his website during the presidential campaign that said he favored ending cash bail. He called it the "modern-day debtors' prison" and said it "incarcerates people who are presumed innocent."

Well, he forgot to mention that bail also protects the American public from people like Mr. Brooks.

Americans like parade watchers/participants Tamara Durand, 52, Jane Kulich, 52, LeAnna Owen, 71, Virginia Sorenson, 79, Wilhelm Hospel, 81, and 8-year-old Jackson Sparks, who passed away after several days in ICU.

And incredibly – here's the craziest part – a White House official defended the policy in the international media soon after the incident in Wisconsin.

According to a White House official who spoke to the DailyMail.com: "Ending cash bail will not automatically put people charged with crimes on the streets. It just means that whether you get bail should be based on the threat you pose, and not how much money you have in your bank account."

"There shouldn't be a separate criminal justice system for wealthy Americans. Ultimately, though, this was a decision made by local courts," the official told the media outlet.

Meanwhile, two members of the Democratic Party "squad" are also speaking up about getting rid of what they call "excessive bail." They also are pushing to abolish federal prisons. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (aka AOC) has understandably provoked rage on social media for her tone-deaf demand that action be taken to reduce "excessive bail" imposed by prosecutors in New York City.

The only excessive thing is this excessively outlandish far-left notion of ditching bail – including Biden's push.

And both of these moves come as the community of Waukesha grieves the loss of six lives in the recent mass murder, prompting many of us to wonder: Do these lawmakers live in the same world as the rest of us?

The answer is clearly no.

Brooks, by the way, had the kind of rap sheet where high bail comes in handy.

Brooks has been charged with crimes 16 times since 1999 and had two outstanding cases against him at the time of the parade killings – including one in which he was accused of deliberately running down a woman with his vehicle.

In fact, he has two open criminal cases in Milwaukee County.

Those responsible for improperly releasing criminals due to clearly "woke" policies should be subject to personal liability and damages to the offender's victims by criminal acts while out because of that bond/bail.

In the meantime, it's time for American voters to do their thing at the polling booth and say "NEXT" to politicians who are refusing to do their part and protect the American public and help restore law and order from coast to coast.
