2 arrested near White House after admitting to having weapons

(JUST THE NEWS) -- Two people were arrested over the weekend after they approached Secret Service officers outside the White House and admitting to having weapons, according to police officials.

The Secret Service said that the individuals arrested posed no immediate danger to any Secret Service protectee, according to NBC News 4 TV.

The incident occurred at about 5:25 p.m. when a man and a woman approached the officers "on their own accord" outside of a secured vehicle checkpoint of the White House complex, police said.
